I joined the University of Leeds as a University Academic Fellow in September 2018. Before, I was a postdoctral scientist in Dr Mark van Breugel's group in MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK and in Prof. Sir Tom L. Blunder's group in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK. I completed my PhD also in Prof. Blundell's lab and did my master degree in Prof. Masayoshi Nakasako's group in Keio University, Yokohama, Japan.
I use structural biology to study the fundamental biological processes influencing the health of living organisms.
I am interested in the structures of proteins. I use structural biology to dissect the underlying biology of living organisms’ health. Apart from research, I enjoy playing the electronic guitar and turntables, polishing leather products, tasting whiskies and pouring good coffee!
